Official: Belgium frees accounts of Russian diplomatic missions
BRUSSELS, Jun 30 (PRIME) -- Belgium has freed accounts of Russian diplomatic missions, which were seized earlier in June to cover a court settlement compensating shareholders in now defunct oil company Yukos, Russia’s Envoy to NATO Alexander Grushko told PRIME Tuesday.
“The missions’ accounts were unblocked, it could not have been otherwise,” he said.
On June 18, Belgian and French bailiffs seized Russian assets to cover the court settlement, while Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said that Moscow rules out any loss repayment.
